Alanna Lin a.k.a. “Mindy Chiu” is a musician, writer and performance artist.
She runs the Los Angeles Department of Writing and Power, a writing and performance studio situated in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles, facilitating innovative, interactive community-building events and creative workshops.
She composes and performs original music for film / television as Fascinoma (a folk-pop project) and more recently has collaborated on a concept album entitled Emergency Songs: Before, During, and After, with composer / arranger, Monk Turner. The project uses pop and rock music as a means to enjoin communal reflection upon friendship, loyalty, and public safety (earthquake preparedness).
Lastly, she hosts a web TV show on Youtube called, “Glamour Fulltime” where she integrates all things into one persona.
She holds a MFA in Creative Writing from California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA.
